Embracing Change: Letting Go and Focusing Forward

Chapter 1: The Essence of Autumn Cleaning
As the seasons shift, it's time to let go of the old and welcome the new. Just like spring cleaning, I advocate for a fall cleaning as well.
This time of year brings shorter days and the impending change of daylight savings time, which often drains my energy. During the vibrant summer months, I was energized, taking on multiple projects simultaneously. While I initiated several endeavors, not all of them came to fruition—and that’s completely fine.
Currently, some projects no longer resonate with me, and it's the right moment to release them. For instance:
- I initiated a publication project.
- I revamped a personal website.
- I created a LinkedIn Newsletter.
However, there are pursuits that I wish to continue:
- Engaging with my Medium audience.
- Strengthening my Twitter presence.
- Dog-walking has emerged as an enjoyable side hustle.
- Maintaining my meditation routine.
Yet, I find myself uncertain about a few commitments that can wait:
- Should I keep writing for content mills?
- Social events and sports activities suddenly feel less pressing. I trust that friends and family will understand if I take a little longer to reconnect.
This process of "autumn cleaning" extends beyond tidying my space; it’s about reorganizing my priorities. While a pumpkin spice candle and freshly mopped floors are delightful, it’s essential to reflect on what truly matters.
Throughout spring and summer, we often dive into numerous new experiences. Some will undoubtedly return to our lives, while others will fade away. This is the moment to discern what genuinely brings us joy as the days become shorter, our energy wanes, and we embrace a more focused approach to our passions.
How do you plan to "declutter" your life this fall?

Chapter 2: Music for Reflection
In the spirit of leaving behind the old, let’s explore some music that resonates with this theme.
The first video, Josh Sahunta - "Leave Summer Behind" (Official Music Video), encapsulates the essence of letting go and moving forward.
The second video, What I'm Leaving For, further explores the concept of transitioning and the journey of self-discovery.
This exploration of change and self-awareness is essential as we navigate the seasons of our lives.
