The pursuit of perfection can be daunting, and those who seem to achieve it may create high standards that leave many feeling inadequate. However, this desire for excellence often propels creative individuals to strive for their best.

The path to mastery is often fraught with missteps. To become proficient, one must first endure the uncomfortable phase of being "bad." Reflecting on my journey as an artist, I've consistently faced the stark contrast between my creations and the ideal I envision. During these challenging moments, it’s crucial to either persevere or abandon the effort altogether. While I've occasionally chosen to start anew, the true lesson lies in the willingness to push through.

The beginning stages of any endeavor—be it writing, art, or starting a business—are typically clumsy. Accepting that your initial attempts may not be impressive is key. You're in the learning phase, and progress may seem stagnant. It can be tempting to quit when faced with setbacks, but remember, discomfort is part of growth.

Self-doubt often creeps in, making you feel like an imposter. You might compare your early efforts to the polished work of others, leading to discouragement. It’s essential to recognize that your current struggles are not indicative of your potential. You haven’t yet put in the time and effort required to reach their level.

The value of facing the "bad" phase lies in the lessons it imparts.
