# Helping Others: Should You Share Your Good Deeds?

The Dilemma of Sharing Acts of Kindness
Have you ever found yourself questioning whether to publicize your acts of kindness? Is it appropriate to showcase your good deeds on social media, or should you remain humble and discreet?
For years, I’ve grappled with this internal conflict: when you assist others, does broadcasting it online come off as boastful? A common saying in Greece suggests we should "do good, even if it's forgotten." This notion encourages altruism and humility, especially when assisting friends or colleagues—it's generally frowned upon to announce those acts. However, what happens when a city or nation faces a crisis? How can we mobilize a significant response to such emergencies?
The remarkable aspect of social media is its ability to unite individuals like a flock of birds, guiding them toward a shared goal. Future generations observe these behaviors and learn to strive for a brighter future by emulating the good deeds of their parents, peers, and role models.
The recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have left us all heartbroken. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine continues to shock us nearly a year later. We felt compelled to help in any way we could—and we did! Regardless of the manner in which you contribute, what matters most is taking action. We may be small components of a larger equation, but we must remember: what your neighbor faces today could be your reality tomorrow.
It’s essential to disregard the rumors that celebrities, corporations, or even nations engage in acts of solidarity purely for self-promotion. Even if that were the case, as I discussed in a previous article titled "The Mouse, the Boy, and How Solidarity Can Transform Your Company and the World," it benefits everyone involved. The act of helping others holds far more significance than merely striving to be the most humble or politically correct individual in the room.
That said, if you prefer to assist others while staying out of the spotlight, that’s perfectly acceptable too. Ultimately, we must keep our eyes on the bigger picture rather than getting caught up in the minor details.
Be the person you would want others to be if you were in need.
In "James Bay - Us," the artist reflects on the importance of unity and support during trying times, encapsulating the spirit of compassion and togetherness.
"Will Dempsey - Beat You There" emphasizes the strength of community and the commitment to helping those in distress, reinforcing the message of standing together in challenging situations.
