The Charismatic Chuck Roast: A Humorous Introduction
Written on
Chapter 1: Who is Chuck Roast?
Allow me to introduce myself—Chuck Roast, at your service! Admittedly, my initial attempt at self-introduction might have missed the mark a bit (cue the "that’s what she said" jokes).
Mmmm! Aren’t I just delectable?
I guess writing an intro isn’t my forte. I should have saved a template for this, but here we are! Some of you managed to write concise intros. How do you do that? I clearly need to work on being more succinct.
This Is Me
Yes, you read that correctly—Charles “Just Call Me Chuck” Roast is my real name. I also dabble in writing under a more serious persona, who is, shall we say, a bit dull.
Chuck embodies my whimsical side—a character full of humor and sarcasm, who never intends to offend. In contrast, my other self is more grounded, often labeled as boring and overly analytical. Still, his humor has its charm, albeit more sophisticated.
So, just call me Chuck.
A Glimpse into Chuck's Mind
Chuck Roast is the epitome of hearty masculinity, standing tall at 6'4" and weighing in at 250 pounds of semi-flaccid muscle, all wrapped up in a cozy Dad-Bod.
Originating from the Midwest, where names often reflect the best cuts of beef, Chuck is both robust and tender, exuding warmth and laughter. He is one of a kind, proudly flaunting his Dad-Bod in slightly snug t-shirts and overalls with ample pockets for all his goodies.
Recipe for Chuck's Happiness
To please Chuck, whip up hearty servings of meat, potatoes, and fresh vegetables. If he’s in the kitchen, offer your assistance, and remember, it’s all about having fun—results are secondary. For Chuck, it's the “dessert” that truly matters, if you catch my drift.
If you want to keep Chuck in high spirits, compliment him, share your day, and engage in meaningful conversation. Chuck is a firm believer in reciprocity.
For a cozy evening, let him take a leisurely nap on the couch with his dog. Awaken him gently with humorous whispers and a gentle rub of his Buddha belly. A little scratch behind the ear wouldn’t hurt either. And if you feel like joining in for a snuggly nap (with the dog, of course), that’s a bonus.
In the bedroom, ensure everything is ready for privacy—especially if kids are around. If they are, grant them permission to dive into some R-rated video games with headphones on.
Chuck enjoys outings to the cinema and live performances, particularly musicals. While he appreciates dining out, nothing beats a good home-cooked meal. Teasing him is welcome; he’ll laugh along, but keep family critiques off the table.
Chuck loves large family gatherings, especially at the beach during holidays, but he draws the line at drunken antics, particularly in front of kids. Whether you like it or not, he will offer you a ride home.
He finds joy in long walks under the moonlight or a quick stroll to the nearest pub if that’s more feasible. Chuck is generally laid-back but won't hesitate to confront any injustice he encounters.
He is a staunch protector of family, the elderly, children, women, and anyone facing bullying. Chuck despises bullies and has no qualms about standing up for wait staff or clerks when they’re mistreated.
Chuck is navigating some personal family challenges, which he candidly discussed in an article titled "My Definition of Dad-Bods is Probably Not What You Think." You can find it published in his own magazine, Dad-Bods. Contributions are welcomed!
Some of Chuck’s other writings include:
- "Editors Should Edit, Readers Should Comment and Writers Should Listen" published on MuddyUm.
- "Quick! Finish the Story. I Have to Poop," also featured on MuddyUm.
- "Just Call Me Homo ‘Erectus’," published in Rogues’ Gallery.

As Chuck embarked on his writing journey on Medium, he was fortunate to receive guidance from several remarkable women, now honorary Dad-Bods and cherished friends.
Here are just a few of the incredible women who have made a significant impact on Chuck:
- Susan Brearley: She oversees a Medium publication called MuddyUm and has provided invaluable support while publishing many of my early stories. She features various talented writers, so do check it out!
- Julia E Hubbel: A vibrant and fierce writer, Julia brings humor and authenticity to her pieces, making her a standout in the writing community. Her recent article, Waxing Poetic About the Bearded Lady, is a must-read.
- Sherry McGuinn: Another mentor, Sherry manages Rogues’ Gallery and several other publications. Her mentorship has been instrumental in my growth as a writer.
- Kristi Keller: A close friend and confidante, Kristi and I support each other through our writing endeavors. Her recent piece, Walking Out of a Prison into a Pandemic, is especially poignant.
There are many others who have shown kindness and support, especially Dr. Illumination, whose hard work I admire and learn from.
I realize I may have gone overboard with my word count, but that’s the charm of Chuck! Until next time, keep writing and stay safe! If you feel like chatting, drop me a line at [email protected].
Peace and Love,
