Another notable study by Benton, involving 60 Welsh children aged 12 to 13, divided participants into two groups—one receiving essential vitamins and the other a placebo. Results indicated that the vitamin group scored eight points higher on IQ tests than the control group, underscoring the importance of nutrition on cognitive development (Benton, 1998).
