Chapter 1: Introduction to CultureCon Uncut
The intersection of a podcast and a live event often leads to enriching experiences for listeners, podcasters, and society alike. Spotify, in collaboration with CultureCon Studios, has unveiled a new limited original podcast series titled CultureCon Uncut, hosted by Imani Ellis. Fresh episodes will be available weekly as we approach the highly anticipated CultureCon, scheduled for October 5-6 in New York City.
CultureCon Uncut serves as a platform for creatives, innovators, and thinkers. Imani Ellis, who is the founder and CEO of both CultureCon and The Creative Collective, engages in deep conversations with Black cultural trailblazers who have carved their unique paths, frequently overcoming challenges along the way. Imani explores the triumphs, setbacks, and complexities of their journeys, offering insights that will resonate with anyone starting their creative endeavors or seeking fresh perspectives. This podcast reveals the unfiltered and authentic creative processes of some of today's most significant visionaries.
The series will showcase prominent leaders, artists, and activists, sharing their narratives to motivate the next generation to chase their dreams relentlessly. Featured guests include journalist and birthFUND founder Elaine Welteroth, actor and author Jay Ellis, beauty and wellness director Sir John, and Uncle Nearest CEO Fawn Weaver, among others.
"We're thrilled to partner with Spotify to elevate the journeys of extraordinary visionaries," stated Imani Ellis, the founder and CEO of CultureCon. "The raw honesty of each episode is bound to inspire future creatives who aim to change the world."
"Our new content division, CultureCon Studios, strives to amplify the stories and impacts of Black and Brown creatives," said Shareese Bembury-Coakley, Vice President of Partnerships and Business Development at CultureCon. CultureCon Uncut is executive produced by Spotify, in partnership with CultureCon Studios.
