The Absence of Extraterrestrial Contact: A Harsh Reality

Written on

Chapter 1: Contemplations on Extraterrestrial Life

Recently, I came across an intriguing piece by Alistair Isaacs titled “The Future is More Terrifying Than We Can Imagine,” which sparked my thoughts about the absence of communication with extraterrestrial beings. My loyal yellow lab, Duke, rested at my feet as I pondered aloud, “Why hasn't anyone reached out to Earth?” Duke lazily opened one eye, glanced up at me, and replied, “It’s not gonna happen.” His unexpected response caused me to tumble backward from my chair, the words echoing in my mind. I scanned the room for a prankster, but it was just my wife and me—she definitely doesn’t sound like Duke.

Regaining my composure, I sat back down, still stunned by what I had just experienced. Just as I was about to head to bed, I heard Duke’s voice again, “Don’t ya want to know why?”

Chapter 1.1: The Surprising Revelation

It felt surreal, but there was no mistaking it—Duke was speaking! I took a moment to gather my thoughts. “Who are you?” I asked, bewildered.

“Think of me as a representative from Greenpeace, but from another galaxy. I’m conducting a survey of your animal kingdom. My colleague is studying plant life,” he explained.

Chapter 1.2: Understanding the Mission

“Why are you doing this?” I queried.

“To assess what can be preserved,” he replied.

“What do you mean by salvage?” I pressed.

“Surely you jest!” he exclaimed. “Five hundred seventy-one species have vanished during your destructive reign. We’re collecting genetic data to attempt saving them.”

“Saving them from what?” I inquired.

“From you, humans,” he said bluntly. “You seem remarkably oblivious!”

Chapter 2: A Reflection on Human Actions

“But we are the pinnacle of evolution and intelligence!” I protested.

“By what criteria do you define that?” he challenged.

“Math, science, literature, art, music…” I listed.

“Wrong measures,” he retorted.

“What other standards exist? Enlighten me,” I asked, trying to understand.

“It’s quite straightforward, yet humans fail to grasp it. Nothing will alter that fact.”

“Listen, we’re not defenseless. You can’t just take what belongs to us. We’ll resist!” I asserted.

“Oh, without a doubt!” he replied.

“Excuse me?” I was taken aback.

“That you’re always prepared for a fight. Your obsession with ownership is so very human.”

What don’t we comprehend? How do you gauge worth?

“All life is sacred. That’s the essence.”

“Humans profess to believe that,” I countered.

“Some do, but the majority don’t practice it at all. Consider this:

  • Are all children on Earth fed and cared for?
  • Do your governments ensure equality for everyone?
  • How many innocents suffer in perpetual conflict?
  • Why is there abuse against your own children?
  • Why does human trafficking exist for pleasure?
  • Why is domestic violence prevalent?
  • Why does hatred persist based on skin color?
  • Why is wealth prioritized over human life?
  • Why is healthcare available only to those who can afford it?
  • Why destroy the very atmosphere that sustains you?

The list is extensive, but isn’t this evidence enough?

Humans have gazed into the cosmos for ages. It should be clear by now; the universe is largely empty. What is scarce? Life. It is invaluable and rare. Humans waste it, mistreat it, and obliterate it. You’re in a dire state.

To directly answer your question, no intelligent life will ever make contact with Earth! Your planet is regarded as hazardous to all living beings. Humanity has been labeled toxic—an outdated species bound to hatred, violence, and warfare. You are on a path to extinction. You have tainted your own world. Your kind will never comprehend the universal truth.”
