Do you consider yourself a patient individual? Personally, I find it challenging. Perhaps this struggle stems from living in a fast-paced world that thrives on immediate gratification. Some transformations, however, require time.
While I strive to be patient with others, I often find myself lacking that same grace. I yearn to evolve into a better version of myself, yet I want that change to happen instantly—almost as if I could wake up tomorrow as that person. This could be a symptom of what I call “self-help book syndrome,” where I dwell too much on the idea of improvement, questioning the adequacy of my current self.
Nonetheless, I recognize the importance of extending the same patience I show others to myself as well.
In "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, the emphasis is not on setting goals, but rather on examining the “system” that supports your journey toward your aspirations. This concept applies both to professional endeavors and personal growth. For instance, if my goal is to lose weight, I must implement a supportive system. If my routine revolves around fast food every night, I shouldn't be surprised if my weight loss efforts fail.
What kind of system do you have in place to nurture your self-belief? I personally grapple with this, often prioritizing the well-being of others over my own. It’s essential to strike a balance between self-care and caring for others.
We all need a framework that fosters our well-being.
I have set a goal to publish my thoughts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for those who wish to follow my journey. This schedule allows me to dedicate the other days to learning from others.
